Minha aventura do WSOP acabou.14 dias depois que ganhei meu ingresso no Everest Poker, recebi o e -mail esmagador do suporte me dizendo que estava fora.Eles também me aconselharam que minha conta agora será fechada.Durante dias, eu ansiava pela justiça.Uma mudança de decisão.Uma mudança de coração.Algo que faltava os poderes.
É irônico que eu deva sofrer neste blog, pois este é o próprio portal que me custou US $ 13.000 e minha conta do Everest.Mas o que aconteceu é história.Não faz sentido interromper este blog ou minha atividade nos quadros.Está cedendo. Eu brinquei com essa mesma idéia desde o dia fiel.Eu queria desistir da comunidade irlandesa de poker online para sempre.Mas isso seria conceder derrota.
Todo esse episódio foi uma derrota.Fui vítima de circunstância.Se o senso comum prevalecesse, eu ainda teria meu ingresso.Fui forçado a tocar em outra casa.Fui forçado a mudar para uma terceira casa.Fui forçado a brincar com outras pessoas.Não posso enfatizar isso o suficiente.Por acaso, involuntariamente quebrei as regras.Como muitas pessoas argumentaram, talvez seja homicídio culposo e não um caso de assassinato (bar o fato de eu não ter matado ninguém).Então, por que devo receber o castigo mais severo possível?O fechamento da conta e o confisco de ingressos são uma punição difícil para o meu "crime".
Experimente como eu, o Everest não se mexe.Eu não posso fazer mais.Ganhei a corrida contra 52 outros jogadores e ganhei o satélite.Eu ganhei o pacote.O inquérito de comissários que se seguiu é o que perdi.
Agora é hora de se qualificar novamente.

Eu, no WSOP!

Não posso acreditar, estou tão chocado por interpretar um dos dois torneios que sempre quis tocar desde a primeira vez que joguei poker.Isso e o irlandês aberto.Eles são os dois figurões para mim e sempre foram dois grandes objetivos para mim.É bastante bizarro que estou jogando o WSOP primeiro e não o Irish Open.Eu sempre imaginei que seria o contrário.Ao dizer isso, eu só imagino nos últimos 18 meses, antes disso, estava incrivelmente fora de questão interpretando qualquer um deles.
Está se tornando um grande número de 2008 para mim.Não importa o que aconteça entre isso e o final do ano, 2008 será para sempre um ano enorme para mim em termos de poker.Hoje recebi uma mensagem de Marc sobre a qualificação e ele usou as palavras "Você merece".Devo dizer que isso significava muito para mim, pois muitas vezes me pergunto se as pessoas estão pensando que estou apenas tendo sorte.De muitas maneiras, o ano de 2007 foi uma transição real para mim como jogador.Comecei a levar as coisas a sério.Coloquei muitas horas na rede e li as placas extensivamente, estudei o jogo offline também lendo livros e conseguindo treinar Hectorjelly.Não sei sobre "merecer", pois não jogo tanto tempo, mas o que fiz é me colocar em posição de ter sucesso.2007 foi o ano para a construção e esse foi o conselho da primavera para o sucesso em 2008.
Então, como me qualifiquei para o WSOP?Joguei um satélite no Everest Poker na segunda -feira à noite.Havia 51 jogadores com 7 prêmios e um pacote WSOP.Era US $ 500 para entrar e eu joguei uma vez antes da semana anterior.US $ 500 não são baratos, mas eu estava disposto a dar pelo menos mais uma chance, pois parece um pouco mais suave que o SAT nos sites dos EUA.Foi efetivamente abandonar os lucros das semanas anteriores das tabelas de dinheiro dos sites para mim.
Então, como eu comemorei?Liguei para o meu irmão e depois liguei para Emmett Hegarthy.Então fui para casa e contei aos meus pais.Todos ficaram emocionados por mim.Então percebi que tinha um projeto devido para amanhã.Sim, passei minha noite "celebrando" um estudo de caso na Starbucks.LOL!
Eu ainda não consigo acreditar.Mesmo quando escrevo isso agora, estou ficando tontoso com o ensino de brincar com os maiores nomes do poker, no torneio mais ilustre do mundo.Vegas aqui estou eu.

Correndo tão frio que está nevando
It's been an interesting little week for yours truly. I've been playing a fair amount of poker but unfortunately for me, I have been running ice cold.
I made the switch from 2/4 to 3/6 online this past weekend and I managed to get through 1000 hands unscaved. Despite being down $1000 in the first 30 mins without any huge pots, I ended up getting back on top by the end of my two sessions. The swings are going to be harsh at first for me so I just hope I don't get loads of coolers in my first steps into this new level. I am bankrolled for all eventualities though and if I am not feeling it I can always jump back into a 2/4 or even a 1/2 game should I wish.
The first live game I played was last Weds in Roy's new club in Newbridge. It was a satellite for the World Poker Open (something on the lines of the Poker Million only smaller, a TV event which will be shown on Setanta later this year). The turnout was poor at 19 which I'm sure Roy will be disappointed over but I think the day that was in it IE. Wednesday and the big Champions League game was always going to affect numbers. The one problem with the low turnout was the difficulty in generating funds for the $8000 package.
The players were made aware of this and were asked an agreed to a re buy/add-on in order to ensure one ticket on the night. Irish Open winner Marty Smyth was in attendance being as gentlemanly and decent as ever, along with Bops and Ken from the Macau. It was none of these players who went on to score the ticket as one by one they fell by the way side. With three left I squared off against Roy and an unknown. I was delighted with my play throughout the tourney despite being ko'd in 3rd place losing a big pot in a classic race situation. Roy went on to the win the ticket so congrats to him. Despite playing well and finishing high I was -€550 on the night such is the joy of one prize tourneys.
I played cash twice this week. Both times in the jackpot on Thursday and Saturday night. In what must have been 20 hours of live play, I can safely say they were amongst the toughest and most difficult I have played in some time. Lots of tricky spots, nothing straight forward. Getting shown bluffs every time I made a big lay down and similarly getting shown the nuts when I looked them up. I guess this is just variance/running-bad as I'm satisfied with how I played, I just seemed to have zero luck in-running. The games were unusually deep for the Jackpot with players buying in for €1000+. With some questionable players/play popping in and out of the game, I do hope this is a sign of things to come in the Montague St club as despite being down several hundred in the game I do feel I would be +EV in the long term should it turn into a regular game for these players.
Also this week I played the Poker Ireland Student Poker Champs in the Regency. It was a nice switch of venue from the RDS. I enjoyed the tournament coming 87th out of a near 300 runners but I would be lieing if I said I gave it 100% commitment. I seemed to spend more time chatting/catching up with players on the rails than sitting down playing some hands. I was glad to be there though to support Stephen McLean in his effort to get big fields for his tournaments. He puts a lot into the organising/running of his games and he deserves players to make the effort. That was my reasoning for playing for sure. Congrats to all the winners on the night.
An extended congratulations also goes to Joe (goodluck2me) and Dara (doke) on coming 1st and 2nd respectfully in the SE end of month game on Saturday night. I spoke with Joe just before the event and gave him the thumbs up on his recent play. Hopefully my compliment helped in some shape or form with his confidence going into the tourney and thus his victory.
Sei que este blog está se tornando muito mais sobre mim nos últimos tempos e menos sobre poker, mas acho que os blogs sempre vão desviar dessa maneira eventualmente.Eu toquei em outros acontecimentos de poker neste blog e farei um esforço para continuar essa característica no futuro, pois é bom falar sobre você e os outros em conjunto, acredito.
Terminarei com meus pensamentos sobre a última entrada do blog de Gordon/Trippie.Fui jantar com ele ontem à noite antes de ele escrever e eu sabia muito do que ele estava indo para a direita.Acho que poderia ter parado ele, mas não o fiz.No que me diz respeito se ele quiser reclamar das coisas em sua mente, deixe -o.Não há dúvida de que ele tem o blog mais controverso sobre a cena irlandesa e se você concorda com o conteúdo ou não (devo dizer que sou N/A com a maior parte), é único e traz variedade e eu o aplaudo por isso.Eu não seria capaz de escrever como balanço, mesmo que eles estivessem em meus pensamentos.
Esse é o meu lote por enquanto, espero que a próxima semana veja uma mudança de temperatura para mim nas mesas.
